Dental implants, anchored to last.
A dental implant is a small titanium post placed in the jawbone where a tooth used to be. Once it heals, it holds a new tooth that looks, feels and chews like your own.

Implants may be right for you if
You’re living with any of these.
- One or more missing teeth
- A broken tooth that can’t be saved
- A loose or slipping denture
- A bridge you’d rather replace
- Trouble chewing on one side
Not sure? A 3D scan shows us whether you have enough bone for an implant.
Preparing your mouth
Every implant needs a solid foundation.
Implants need healthy bone to hold onto. If you’ve lost bone after a missing tooth, we can rebuild it here before your implant is placed.
- Every patient
3D treatment planning
Special 3D software lets us measure your bone quality, quantity and location, so each implant is placed in the best possible position for your new tooth.
Implant site development
When an infected tooth comes out, it often leaves bone loss behind. We can graft bone at the same visit to prepare the area for an implant later.
Autogenous bone grafting
If an area doesn’t have enough bone, we “borrow” a small amount from elsewhere in your mouth, often the chin or where your wisdom teeth used to be.
Sinus lift augmentation
After losing upper back teeth, the sinus can enlarge into the space. A sinus lift moves it back and replaces lost bone. The graft usually heals for nine to 12 months before implants go in.
Why patients choose implants
A replacement that acts like a real tooth.
Unlike a denture or bridge, an implant replaces the root as well as the tooth, so it stays put and helps protect the jawbone around it.
Missing several teeth? All-on-4 implants can hold a full arch of teeth on just four implants.
- Doesn’t slip, click or rub
- Helps preserve the bone in your jaw
- Doesn’t rely on neighboring teeth
- Lets you eat the foods you enjoy
- Brushed and flossed like a natural tooth
- Designed to last for many years
How implants work
From missing tooth to a new smile.
Most implants follow the same path. Your timeline depends on whether you need bone grafting first.
Planned and restored in-house
Our dentists and prosthodontist plan your implant and your new tooth together, so you won’t be sent across town.
Consultation and 3D scan
We examine your mouth, take a 3D scan and talk through your options, including how many implants you need and whether grafting is required.
Preparing the site
If needed, we remove failing teeth and graft bone or lift the sinus. Some grafts heal for several months before the implant is placed.
Placing the implant
With the area numbed, and sedation available if you’d like, we place the titanium post into your jawbone. It then bonds with the bone as it heals.
Your new tooth
Once the implant has healed, we attach a custom crown, bridge or denture made to match your smile.
Ongoing implant care
Implants collect plaque and tartar just like teeth, so regular professional cleanings keep them healthy. We’ll set the right interval for you.

Dental implants FAQ
Have another question about dental implants? Call us and we’ll be glad to help.
- What is a dental implant?
- A dental implant is a small titanium post placed into the jawbone where a tooth is missing. Once it heals and bonds with the bone, a crown, bridge or denture is attached to it.
- Am I a candidate for dental implants?
- Most adults with healthy gums and enough jawbone are candidates. If you’ve lost bone, grafting or a sinus lift can often rebuild it. A 3D scan helps us decide.
- Why would I need a bone graft?
- Bone can shrink after a tooth is lost or infected. If there isn’t enough to hold an implant, we graft bone, sometimes borrowed from your chin or the back of your jaw, to create a solid base.
- What is a sinus lift?
- After upper back teeth are lost, the sinus can enlarge into the space. A sinus lift moves the sinus back to its original position and replaces the lost bone. The graft typically heals nine to 12 months before implants are placed.
- Does getting an implant hurt?
- The area is fully numbed during the procedure, and sedation is available if you’re nervous. Most patients are surprised by how manageable recovery is.
- How do I care for my implant?
- Brush and floss it like a natural tooth. Implants can collect plaque and tartar, so regular professional cleanings are needed. We’ll recommend an interval based on your needs.
- Do you place and restore implants in the same office?
- Yes. Our team plans, places and restores implants here in Lewes, so your care stays under one roof from start to finish.

Kind words from our patients
I know most people hate the dentist but I love it! And it especially helps having such a great dental team that I know I can trust. I love leaving with my teeth feeling clean and well cared for. Dr. Bryan and his assistants (both Jess and Aliya) are so kind and caring.

My experience with Dr. Labin has been nothing but positive! I have been going to him for years and he is very gentle, making sure his patients are comfortable before he starts any procedure. The staff, from the office staff to the dental hygienists, are all professional and go above and beyond.
